About Me

Philosophy
I am a word lover and a huge grammar nerd, but never a grammar nazi. What that means is that, while I love the effect of a well-placed comma, and I'm more than a little particular about using the appropriate word at the appropriate time, I am most interested in helping an author craft sentences, paragraphs, pages, and--most importantly--stories. I believe everyone has a story to tell, and my goal as an editor is to help you tell your story the best way possible.

Education
I graduated from Brigham Young University in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in English Language (history, grammar, and linguistics of the English language, rather than literature, though I did take courses in literature as well). I earned a minor in Editing and received top marks in classes covering general editing, print publishing, fiction editing, and editing for publication.

Personal
I'm a military brat who grew up all over the world on Air Force bases, so I never have a really good answer when people ask me where I'm from. I currently reside in Utah, and I love the mountains, the pioneer history, and the local college football. I'm married to a computer programmer (though he prefers to call himself a computer architect), and we have three children who are certifiably the cutest kids in the world.
